Ondine Sivell, France
Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 9th World Championship in Massage is Ondine Sivell from France. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:
Hi! I come from Provence, in the south of France. After my Baccalaureate, I decided to take a gap year to gain professional experience and learn from life. During that time, I worked in varioushospitality jobs, which taught me a lot about human contact, service, and communication.
Later, I studied Performing Arts in Strasbourg. Unfortunately, I faced some health challenges and personal difficulties that made me realise I needed to take care of myself and understand health more deeply. That period sparked a strong passion for health and well-being in me.
What I loved most about performing arts was the emphasis on self-expression, human connection, both mental and physical and the power of presence. I recall workshops where weexplored movement and physical contact, those moments of authenticity and human truth were deeply meaningful to me.
Over time, I developed a deep desire to help people feel better, relieve their pain and stress, and reconnect with their bodies. I often ask myself why so many people get sick, and why there is such a lack of health education in our society.
That’s what led me to massage therapy. I decided to come to London because I’m half British and wanted to experience life in England.
I followed a Level 3 ITEC Relaxing massage course with London School of Massage from Oct 2025 to Jan 2026
(https://www.londonschoolofmassage.co.uk/massage-courses-massage-training-s chool-itec-massage-courses.php ).
Through some research I discovered the Raynor massage technique (https://www.raynormassage.com/about-us/raynor-massage/ ) which combines many different massage styles from all over the world like Reflexology, Acupressure, Thai, Shiatsu, deep tissue. Brandon Raynor (naturopath, massage therapist, educator, and the founder of Raynor Massage) combined his years of learning these techniques into a holistic way of treatingclients which would focus on relieving physical and emotional tension by understanding where the tension comes from. It draws on techniques and philosophies from Eastern and Western traditions. I followed the certificate course in February with one of their teachers Dave Taylor (his website for training is : https://davetaylortraining.co.uk/ ). This brought a deeper understanding of the body and I understood that there was so much more to learn and it was only the start of my journey.
I started working in March as a massage therapist in a spa in Covent Garden to gain more experience.
I will represent France.
