Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the World Championship in Massage 2023 in Copenhagen is Sterling Gordon from the USA. IMA has asked him to tell about himself:

Hi, My name is Sterling Gordon I attended massage therapy school in the United States in Portland Oregon at the East-west College of Healing Arts.

I am a bit of a massage Nomad with a huge varied background, I have a plethora of hobbies and skills. My massage abilities and style are a manifestation of my passion for creativity and problem-solving, I use a wide variety of techniques guided by my intuition with each client; My techniques are based on therapeutic deep tissue, myofascial release, Lomi Lomi, and Thai massage.

I have worked all over the place and even had a small practice of my own, my most recent endeavor was a 9-month contract on board a Norwegian cruise ship sailing throughout the islands of Hawaii.

I will most likely compete in one of the freestyle categories and I will be representing the USA.

I look forward to coming to the World Championship in Massage as a way to expose myself to various new techniques, and styles that I still haven’t learned about or come into contact with.

I can’t wait to increase my artistry with the skill of massage as I meet many practitioners from around the world.

Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Jeg har taget både grunduddannelsen, skadesterapeut, thai yoga massage samt sundhedsfaglig grunduddannelse hos tengbjerg massørskole og jeg er så tilfreds. Man lærer utrolig meget på kurserne og underviserne er så kompetente! Hvis man overvejer at blive massør, kan jeg på det kraftigste anbefale at man smutter til Næstved! :-)
