The latest Massage therapist participating at the 8th World Massage Championship in Copenhagen 2025 is the award winner from the 3rd Massage Championship of the Nordic Countries Inese Volrate from Latvia. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:

Hello!

I’m Inese Volrate, certified massage therapist from Riga, Latvia.

I work as medical massage therapist in Rehabilitation clinic of Riga 1^st hospital which is the oldest hospital in Latvia. https://www.1slimnica.lv/en/

I know several techniques, such as, but not limited to – Lymphatic Drainage, Swedish massage, Cupping, Gua Sha, Acupupressure which I apply depending on the patient’s needs.

In addition to working in a hospital, I am a guest lecturer at P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia, where I teach various types of massage, and also work in my private practice.

Education

I’ve graduated P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia – Medical Massage https://www.psk.lu.lv/ as well as attended to several masterclases within and ouside my country.

I am representing Latvia at the World Massage Championship.

For the championship, I will present Chair massage and Wellness massage.

Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Han samler flittigt viden og erfaringer, hvorfra han skaber en kilde til ny viden og erfaring til andre og giver den videre.I dag er der allerede mange mennesker i verden, som har nydt godt af det kolossale arbejde, Jeppe konstant udfører. Jeg har taget både grunduddannelsen, skadesterapeut, thai yoga massage samt sundhedsfaglig grunduddannelse hos tengbjerg massørskole og jeg er så tilfreds. Man lærer utrolig meget på kurserne og underviserne er så kompetente! Hvis man overvejer at blive massør, kan jeg på det kraftigste anbefale at man smutter til Næstved! :-)
