New IMA Basic Teacher
Alexey Matveev from Russia has just completed the IMA approved International Massage Teacher Basic class. IMA has asked him to tell about himself.
“My name is Alexey Matveev. I am a master of massage and body practices. I was born in Russia, traveled a lot and lived in different countries. At the moment I live and work in Moscow.
I have more than 30 years of experience in the field of massage and body practices. I have been working professionally for the ninth year, 5 of which I have the idea to open my own workshop, and then a school.
I specialize in both basic massage techniques when working with people, and I have a narrow specialization – working with injuries of the musculoskeletal system and issues of psychosomatics. I possess various methods and techniques for solving tasks and providing an integrated approach to the clients.
The greatest value for me is helping the person during the sessions to create a resource state and go beyond “living with pain”. Behind this are various sports, martial arts, styles and directions of yoga and other practices, the experience of which I have accumulated throughout my life.
But the full understanding of what I did all this for, began to come only now.
I chose the International Teacher Basic course to gain experience and knowledge from the world’s leading teachers, because I saw the structure, methodology and motivation behind it, which has a clear guidelines – giving me the opportunity to become a competent teacher now, in the present, and to create my own Brand, my own school in the near future.
My successful completion of the course shows that I have become a few steps closer to my goal and my dream, which I am ready to make a reality, and this is a joy.
The impression after the end of the course is the most positive, since I now have a clear understanding of what a good massage (and not only) teacher should be, what to match and what qualities to possess.
I have great respect for the work that was invested by the teachers during this entire course in us as students, so once again I express my huge gratitude for the care, understanding, patience and attention shown to us.
Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I will give recommendations for the International Teacher course to those who are just embarking on this Path and are ready to grow from a novice masseur to a leading master in the Wellness Industry and a world-famous teacher.
The International Massage Association wishes Alexey Matveev congratulations and hope to see him on our Advanced Teacher course on a later date.
