Laura Urbanaitė, Lithuania
Latest Massage Therapist participating at the 8th World Massage Championship is Laura Urbanaitė from Lithuania. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:
I am a beauty therapist and I work at “Spa Vilnius” day spa center. Massage is an art form born from a place of love. Not only for your client, but for yoursef and the world around you. Those are the words I live by during my everyday massage practise. I am happy to provide my clients with a safe space where they can be theirselves and even just for a little bit – leave the world behind and relax. I perfrorm face and body massages and treatments.
Teamwork, respect, care – those are the values we live by in Spa Vilnius. That is why every treatment starts with a consultation, to get to know my client’s needs and hopes. During the treatment for me it is important to relax not only client’s body, but also their mind. After the treatment I privide my clients with a review about their body, give advice about everyday self-care. I put a lot of heart into my work and my clients feel that. That is why I became multiple times “Customer favorite” of the month. I also constantly try my best to become more and more professional – that is why I participate in lots of training programmes such as: Comprehensive massage ergonomics and new principles of classical massage performance by “Holistic Me” massage school, multiple Espa trainings of face and body treatments, Hemolymph drainage massage course by Constantine Berman, Japanese therapeutic facial massage first and secound level by Diana Gerviene and many other internal trainings by Spa Vilnius collegues.
Participating in championships is also part of my personal development. It is a great opportunity not only to show off your skills but also to learn new techniques and approaches to the massage during the process of preparation. That is why I challenge myself to participate in as many championships as possible. It is a quite new area for me but the results are not disappointing: in II Open Massage Competition for Lithuanian Cosmetics and Cosmetologists I won a third place and in Spa Vilnius Masseur’s championship I won first place in face cathegory.
In 2022 I completed the college study programme Cosmetology and have been awarded The Degree of Professional Bachelor of Health Sciences in Cosmetology studies at International School of Law and Business in Lithuania.
