Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the World Championship in Massage 2024 is Pia Lyng-Hansen. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:

Hi, my name is Pia Lyng-Hansen, I’m from Denmark. I am educated and have worked as a social and health assistant for 30 years, I chose a radical change of industry, and overnight I left my position of 18 years in favor of the masseur profession. I am a trained masseur, with courses in injury therapy, muscle therapy and shortly, Deep Tissue. I am educated at Tengbjerg Massørskole V/ Jeppe Tengbjerg.

On a daily basis I run Lyngmassage. I offer:

1. Physiotherapy massage

2. Wellness massage

3. Sportsmassage

4. I work both on the massage table and on a massage chair.

5. Health professional dialogue/guidance in areas such as ergonomics, postures, recovery.

When I work, I immerse myself and feel I blend in with the body I process. I communicate with the tissue. I rarely do a treatment by the book, I freestyle based on the body’s natural movement pattern. No 2 treatments with me are alike. My customers know that and they love it. It requires trust, based on good dialogue prior to treatment.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Jeg har taget både grunduddannelsen, skadesterapeut, thai yoga massage samt sundhedsfaglig grunduddannelse hos tengbjerg massørskole og jeg er så tilfreds. Man lærer utrolig meget på kurserne og underviserne er så kompetente! Hvis man overvejer at blive massør, kan jeg på det kraftigste anbefale at man smutter til Næstved! :-)
