Monika Kmiecik, Norway
Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the World Championship in Massage is Award winning Monika Kmiecik from Norway. The IMA has asked her to tell about herself:
My name is Monika Kmiecik and I come from Poland. At the Championship I will represent Norway, the country where my home is, and where I have been working for the last 4 years. I won a golden medal in the Medical Massage category at the Norwegian Championship in 2021.
I am a physiotherapist by profession. I graduated from Academy of Physical Education in Krakow with a Master’s Degree. I started massaging during my studies at the university, and this is how the adventure continues.
Throughout my career, I gathered a breadth of experience. At the start of my professional path, I have learned the ritual of hammam and oriental massages. Work at the Ayurveda massage studio, gave me a solid knowledge and skills of ayurvedic massage and treatments. It also had a big impact on the current shape of my techniques. In Norway, I started working at a spa, where I have learned to massage with hot lava shells – I will present this in the Wellness category. I also had a great pleasure of working in the largest spa in Northern Europe.
Currently you can find me at Squeeze in Ski, Norway. Squeeze makes massage available for everyone and our main goal is to introduce massage as the best habit. I am a part of a wonderful team of over 140 professional therapists. We happily share our skills and knowledge among each other. I have a pleasure of participating in the Championship with 4 of my colleagues.
I will take part in two categories: Wellness and Sports massage
