Inga Mackeviciene, Lithuania
Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the World Championship in Massage is Inga Mackevičienė from Lithuania. The IMA has asked her to tell about herself.
I discovered my interest in being a therapist around twelve years ago. As I stepped into the mesmerising world of massage, I felt the sense of belonging instantly and never looked back.
The reason behind is that I always found human body fascinating, which in my mind is an absolute entity of not only physical but also spiritual elements. This, over the time, made me realise of how close and relatable I am to the Asian philosophy, cultural roots, and eastern techniques. Performing massage, I try to combine multiple styles based on individual client needs and requirements. I have been trained to execute a variety of massages starting from classic to thai and from toe to face.
During the World Massage Championship I will carry out Thai based prenatal massage. It is a lightweight, wavy approach to a massage filled with warmth and cosiness and can be applied not only to pregnant clients but also to all individuals seeking relaxation and serenity. Furthermore, this massage can be adapted for people who are unable to lie on their stomach or bear larger weight.
