Latest participant at the World Championship in Massage is Slav Marinov from Bulgaria. IMA has asked him to tell about himself.
Hello, my name is Slav Marinov. I am from Bulgaria and have been living and working in UK for the last 16 years.
After studying at the National Sports Academy in Sofia I started my career as a Personal Trainer. In the beginning the massage was just a nice way to compliment my PT sessions and offer more “all around “approach to my clients. I was fascinated of how I can help them to achieve their goals. It wasn’t long though before I realised, I was really passionate about body work and my priorities shifted.
In 2003 I moved to London to further develop my skills and started my own company Beautopia Mobile SPA.
Currently apart from managing Beautopia mobile SPA I practise in a venue at the heart of Chelsea in London and in addition I follow some of my clients around the world when they travel for work or on Holliday.
Over the years I obtained qualifications in different massage techniques including Deep Tissue, MFR, Reflexology,TMJ , Cupping (to mention just a few) but a great part of my own style was shaped and polished through hard work self-education and practising.
In November 2018 I took part in the International Fascia Research Congress in Berlin as always looking for learning more.
At the World Championship in Massage in Copenhagen I will be representing both Bulgaria and UK, competing in the Swedish and Free Style (Western inspired) categories.
Wish you all the best of luck and can’t wait to see you in Copenhagen.
