Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 8th World Championship in Massage is Rangi Mclean Whatukura from New Zealand.
Born and raised in Waimana, Bay of Plenty and now resident of Manurewa for 41 years, Rangi is a well-regarded authority on Tikanga, Kawa and cultural practices. Rangi heads the cultural advisory unit of Hāpai Te Hauora Tapui. This support extends to Hāpai shareholders and contractors: Raukura Hauora o Tainui, Te Ha Oranga o Ngāti Whātua, and Te Whānau o Waipareira.
Rangi has extensive qualifications in Māori Business Development, including an Executive master’s in business administration. He has received both the New Zealand Māori Business Award and the Dame Mira Szászy Alumni Awards.
Rangi holds extensive governance roles in his local South Auckland community and across Auckland. He is also the current cultural advisor for national health projects including the National Māori Tobacco Control Leadership Service and the National Coordination Service and the National Public Health Workforce Development Services for Minimising Problem Gambling Harm.
Rangi is a frequent commentator for wider health issues on Māori media mediums. He is a dedicated Kaumātua and advocate for community development and creating better understanding around Māori culture and how that interacts with the contemporary environment.
