Latest Massage Therapist participating at the 2026 World Massage Championship is the new European Massage Champion Nicolas Van Oel (who won together with Mickaël Denis). The IMA has asked him to introduce himself:

I am Nicolas Van Oel, massage therapist since 15 years ! Winner overall in European championship 2026, gold winner wellness 2026 and empathy wellness 2026.

I would like to propose you a 4 hands massage called « Convergence ». It’s the story of 2 massages therapist who met them during a championship. We discover more than a massage, we found a real friendship and a human challenge.

We tried to mix our influences : Lomi Lomi style, Thai massage, scarves. We really want to create connexion, presence and technicity. Our réflexion was : how to explore all the positions of therapist around the table for the client. You will see glides, stretching, rocking, and mobilisation. The effect of this massage is relaxation, floating sensation and focus on yourself.

My solo massage : Massage in perfume Land. Based on the pyramide olfactory. Each perfume got 3 notes and reveal something about your personnality. You Will discover the perfume : « L’orangeraie » because it’s a local perfume with citrus and orange blossom.

It’s the duality beetwin softness and tonicity. So for the head note I Will awake the skin with fresh and tonic contact. For the hearth note : soft glide. To finish with base note : I use mobilisation and soft stretching. This massage is a relaxing ritual for people who are looking for relaxation but with presence.

The International Massage Association look forward watching Nicolas Van Oel skills at the World Championship in Massage especially in the new category Multi Hands together with Mickaël Denis. The World Championship in Massage is taking place for the 9th times in wonderful Copenhagen on July 3-5.

At the International Massage Association we are ongoing try to elevate the Massage Profession via our many Articles, Podcasts, Masterclasses and via the Educational Conference at the World Championship in Massage.

The World Massage Championship in Copenhagen is truly my second home. For the past 9 years, As a I have had the honor of being part of this amazing organization as a teacher and judge, and every year I leave feeling inspired, moved, and deeply grateful.

It is a place where passion, knowledge, talent, and heart come together. I have learned from others, been influenced and inspired by incredible professionals, and I have also had the joy of teaching and sharing my own experience.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.
During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.
The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.

Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. His energy seemed boundless, akin to a rechargeable battery, as he was present everywhere, capturing videos and photographs of all participants and conducting interviews with us.

Wishing all my fellow "muscle kneaders" the best of luck; may you enjoy this truly remarkable experience in your lives!

Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.
Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Han samler flittigt viden og erfaringer, hvorfra han skaber en kilde til ny viden og erfaring til andre og giver den videre.
