Masumi Negishi, Japan
Latest Massage Therapist participating at the 9th World Championship in Massage is award winning Masumi Negishi from Japan.
MASUMI NEGISHI is a makeup artist and therapist based in Tokyo, Japan, whose work exists at the intersection of beauty, bodywork, philosophy, and cultural aesthetics.
For more than 26 years, she has worked with over 10,000 clients through makeup artistry and therapeutic treatments, continuously exploring one central question:
“What is true beauty?”
Her philosophy is not centered on adding beauty from the outside.
Instead, she believes that beauty already exists within every person, waiting to be revealed through balance, awareness, and resonance.
MASUMI’s therapy integrates the wisdom of Ayurveda, traditional Japanese aesthetics, and a profound understanding of human anatomy, movement, and sensory perception.
Rather than viewing the face as an isolated structure, she approaches beauty as the visible expression of the entire body — posture, fascia, breath, nervous system, internal organs, skeletal alignment, and emotional state working together in harmony.
In the Facial, she presents her signature method,
“JAPANESE SILK RITUAL.”
This treatment is built around traditional Japanese silk materials such as silk powder, silk cocoons, mawata silk floss, and traditional handcrafted boxwood combs, combined with Ayurvedic medicinal herbal oils and powder ersonally sourced by MASUMI visiting from India and Sri Lanka.
Through this fusion of Japanese craftsmanship and Ayurvedic plant medicine, the treatment supports the skin’s innate healing intelligence while restoring structural and energetic harmony throughout the body.
She deeply respects the history, craftsmanship, and human devotion behind every material she uses.
Traveling throughout Japan, she has met directly with sericulture specialists, artisans, and traditional makers, carefully selecting each element with her own eyes and hands.
To her, tools and materials carry more than function — they embody memory, philosophy, and cultural spirit.
Her bodywork reflects the same depth of understanding.
By combining myofascial release, dynamic cupping, pelvic alignment techniques, neuromuscular stimulation, and movement-based approaches, MASUMI supports athletic recovery, physical performance, and structural efficiency.
She has worked with professional mixed martial artists and athletes, providing conditioning and recovery treatments designed to enhance mobility, resilience, and body awareness.
To deepen her own understanding of movement and body mechanics, MASUMI also practices kickboxing herself and has achieved victory in amateur competition.
This direct physical experience informs her therapeutic approach, allowing her to understand the body not only as a therapist, but also through lived embodiment and movement.
For MASUMI, therapy is never merely technical.
“It is a dialogue.”
A process through which the body remembers its original intelligence, balance, and vitality.
Rather than forcing correction, she creates conditions in which structure aligns naturally, circulation returns, sensation awakens, and beauty emerges organically from within.
Her work transcends the boundary between therapy and makeup artistry.
It has evolved into a form of expression dedicated to revealing the vitality, sensitivity, and presence that already live inside a person.
Today, she continues to represent a uniquely Japanese philosophy of beauty and bodywork on the international stage — one rooted not in perfection, but in harmony, sensitivity, and deep respect for human existence itself.
