Lukas Bozik, UK
Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 7th World Championship in Massage 2024 is Lukas Bozik from the United Kingdom. The International Massage Association has asked him to tell about himself:
I’m from Slovakia, have been living in UK for over ten years. I began to massage back in the day at uni as a sort of party favour for my friends but didn’t fully get into until about five years ago when I was advised I should try becoming a therapist. It immediately seemed like the perfect match as I got to help people whilst doing something physical and very tangible. It keeps me active, keeps me moving and I feel like I’m really making a difference in others’ lives.
The ethos of movement & activity is what I’m holistically trying to bring into my treatments as well. I combine deep tissue with sports massage, vocal massage, trigger point therapy and softer elements from Swedish massage and Indian head massage, sometimes use dry cupping if needed.
I aim to release anything that causes the person to feel stuck, physically or emotionally, relieve their discomfort and ultimately make them feel rejuvenated on the inside and out. Every sports massage, in my opinion, feels better with at least a little bit of soothing relaxation in it so that both body & mind can trust the process and allow the change to happen.
Then I always strongly suggest strengthening and stretching aftercare as I want my clients to feel empowered and in control of their own wellbeing journey, ready to tackle anything that’s been worrying them.
I studied at various places across London:
- Swedish massage and Indian head massage at Citylit
citylit.ac.uk - Deep tissue and Stretch massage at London School of Massage
londonschoolofmassage.co.uk - Sports massage, Dry fire cupping, Trigger points, Kinesiology taping and Chair massage at School of Natural therapies
schoolofnaturaltherapies.co.uk - Laryngeal manipulation (vocal massage) at Voice care centre
voicecarecentre.co.uk
I entered my first ever competition in 2023 and won the 1st place in Chair massage, 2nd place in Classical massage, 2nd place in Advanced massage and 3rd place overall at UK Massage Championships.
Then I competed at the UK National Massage Championship where I got two silver medals, in Chair massage and Advanced/Clinical massage.
Both events felt like such an overwhelmingly positive and bonding experience, hence why I am very looking forward to the World Championship in Massage this year.
I represent United Kingdom.
