Latest Massage Therapists signing up for the World Championship in Massage is Hiromi Hira from Japan. The IMA has asked her to tell about herself:

Hello, my name is Hiromi Hirai from Osaka, Japan.

This is my first time participating in this championship, and I am truly excited to connect with talented therapists from around the world and learn from this wonderful international community.

My journey in bodywork began in 2002 with Aromatherapy Massage. Since then, I have studied a variety of healing traditions and therapeutic modalities from around the world, including Balinese Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Thalassotherapy, and PiaSoma Touch from the Esalen Institute, among many other approaches that have shaped my understanding of touch and healing.

My professional path has included luxury hotel spas such as The Ritz-Carlton, as well as international wellness brands like YON-KA and Swiss Perfection.

Education has also been an important part of my journey, from becoming a facial therapy instructor early in my career to teaching and mentoring professionals through my own training programs since 2012.

Over time, my path led me beyond technique and into the deeper essence of touch.

Inspired by Japanese spirituality, mindfulness, and the wisdom of nature, I gradually discovered and shaped what is now known as Chikyuyoku (Earth Ritual) — a practice that invites people to return to their natural state through touch, presence, and stillness.

In Japan, there is a Zen phrase, Myoju Zaisho — a reminder that the most precious things in life are already present, waiting to be remembered.

Through touch, I hope to help people return to that remembrance and rediscover their natural connection with themselves, others, and the living world.

I am honored to share my work with you and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this championship.

It is a place where passion, knowledge, talent, and heart come together. I have learned from others, been influenced and inspired by incredible professionals, and I have also had the joy of teaching and sharing my own experience.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.
During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.
The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.

Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. His energy seemed boundless, akin to a rechargeable battery, as he was present everywhere, capturing videos and photographs of all participants and conducting interviews with us.

Wishing all my fellow "muscle kneaders" the best of luck; may you enjoy this truly remarkable experience in your lives!

Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.
