Hélder Martins, Portugal

Latest participant at the World Championship in Massage 2019 is
Hélder Martins from Portugal. IMA has asked him to tell about himself.

Hi, i’m Hélder Martins, but my friends call me Vena. Have 37 years old and I’m from Oporto, a beautiful city of Portugal.

As a professional career I graduated in two areas, one as a Mechatronics Specialist, in which I worked in Aviation and Wind Turbines projects for companies worldwide and that allowed me to visit several countries, met new people and their cultures. The other area is a massage therapist, trained in various Western massage techniques (Swedish, Sports, etc.) and Eastern (Tui-na, Do-in, etc.), since 2006 by the Portuguese Institute of Naturology of Porto (IPN).

Over the years I tried to consolidate the two areas, but the time came when one of them spoke louder and I began to devote myself full-time to massages, because I believe in good things. Believe that each of us has the potential to do good things and live a good life. Doing what we really like, tune into ourselves and our surroundings so we can better help others.

I am a Yoga practitioner in Vaidika center and I will also be giving massage therapeutic in this Yoga center.

I am glad to be part of Word Championship Massage, because massage is gratitude. It is art. Is a religion of the art of life. Being in this event will be a pleasure and an inspiration to see massage therapist from around the world each with their special technique and all gathered for sake of the same goal.

In the event I will participate in the Swedish massage and free style massage.
