Angela Kondo, Ireland
Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 8th World Championship in Massage is Angela Kondo from Ireland. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:
I have been a massage therapist for over 20 years. When I lived in the U.S., I worked in the Ritz Carlton in Washington, DC (Georgetown Location). The clientele were both discerning and demanding in that location. I utilised a variety of tools supplied by the spa: hot stone, bamboo sticks, hot wraps, herbal wraps, etc. I trained as a yoga teacher. I received further certification in Japanese facial massage, mothermassage, infant massage, pregnancy yoga, reflexology, and Reiki. I moved to Ireland 13 years ago and now work for a busy physiotherapy clinic. The majority of my clientele prefer a sports massage and are often recovering from various injuries. I would consider my massage a wellness massage with a large emphasis on myofascial release and deep tissue massage.
I graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage 637 hour Professional Massage Training Program in July 2004. I believe the massage school was then bought by the Steiner Education group. I just tried to google it and it appears that it has yet another owner and is now called the Cortiva Institute.
This is the website for the physiotherapy practice that I work in:
