Harpa Finnsdóttir from Iceland has registered for the 2027 World Championship in Massage. She has taken the IMA Massage Teacher Courses. IMA has asked her to tell about herself:

My name is Harpa Finnsdóttir and I am a certificated Clinical Sports and Deep Tissue Massage Therapist from Iceland.

I am the founder and sole practitioner at my clinic HFHeilsa ehf. where I specialize in Clinical Sports and Deep Tissue Massage Therapy for chronic pain related Myofascial and nerve related pathology issues, sports injury and common physical health.

As i am also personal strength trainer i customade for every client an exercise plan for their problems if needed, so the progress from the massage therapy can develop to more quality of life for my customers.

I currently work every day as the primary Sports- Massage Therapist and First Aid Medical Provider for the women’s football team FH- Football Club, which competes in the Icelandic top-tier league (Bestu deild). I provide pre-game therapy, gameday therapy and post-game therapy to ensure the athletes are physically prepared and resilient on Game Day. Additionally, I work with Stjarnan- Football Club, another premier women’s football team in the Icelandic top-tier league (Bestu deild) offering post-game recovery treatments. Other soccer teams, handball teams and more seek my help also, as do other individual athletes which compete in other sports.

Since the beginning of my career, I have specialized in Sports- Massage Therapy, a decision rooted in my own athletic background. I spent many years as a competitive swimmer and later transitioned into powerlifting, which I continue to practice today. Weightlifting has helped me maintain the strength and stamina necessary to meet the physical demands of my work and daily life.

For me it is important to maintain physical strength, body posture and intuition regarding my work so I can serve my customers as long as I can and to be able to keep my service humble and authentic.

It’s not just a career for me, it’s a passion and quality of life.

The International Massage Association look forward watching Harpa Finnsdóttir skills again at the 2027 World Championship in Massage on July 2-4 in wonderful Copenhagen.

At the International Massage Association we are ongoing try to elevate the Massage Profession via our many Articles, Podcasts, Masterclasses and via the Educational Conference at the World Championship in Massage.

The World Massage Championship in Copenhagen is truly my second home. For the past 9 years, As a I have had the honor of being part of this amazing organization as a teacher and judge, and every year I leave feeling inspired, moved, and deeply grateful.

It is a place where passion, knowledge, talent, and heart come together. I have learned from others, been influenced and inspired by incredible professionals, and I have also had the joy of teaching and sharing my own experience.

This championship is more than an event — it is a family, a community, and a celebration of the art of massage. I am proud and thankful to be part of it. Five stars from my heart!

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.
During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.
The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.

Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. His energy seemed boundless, akin to a rechargeable battery, as he was present everywhere, capturing videos and photographs of all participants and conducting interviews with us.

Wishing all my fellow "muscle kneaders" the best of luck; may you enjoy this truly remarkable experience in your lives!

Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.
Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Han samler flittigt viden og erfaringer, hvorfra han skaber en kilde til ny viden og erfaring til andre og giver den videre.
