Registrations to the World Championship in Massage 2020 is open. Latest participant is Tracey Herbert from Australia. IMA has asked her to tell about herself.
Throughout my experience I believe an old Tibetan healer lives within my DNA vibrating through every cell, driving and teaching me, I do what comes naturally…
I work with the electrical system in the body. I feel it through my fingertips and see it in my mind. I see mass density. Pain in the body is a thicker mass density. I unhook connective tissue that gets caught in the joints. I release all negative blockages throughout, due to physical impact or mental/emotional stress. I use oil and massage techniques, sometimes stretching I have recently been using bamboo, i can feel through the bamboo like its an extension of my fingers. I use breathing tecniques with intention to release, communicate, and to put back love where is needed to heal.
I love what i do, i absolutely thrive on it. It is my passion and my life’s purpose. I only stumbled across this event on the internet about a month ago. To be in a room full of creative, unique massage therapists, all confident in their abilities will be the highlight of my 52 years as a conscientious human living on our spectacular planet earth.
I live and practise in Tanawha, in an old tiny house village, in the middle of rain forest on the glorious Sunshine Coast of Queensland in Australia. We like to put the unity into community.
I went to a massage school in 1998 in Adelaide. I don’t remember the name of it and i don’t know where my paperwork is. I don’t ever forget however, the extraordinary story the trainer shared with me that motivated and inspired my courage to go beyond the confinement of structure and into the unknown until it is known. Ten years later in 2009 i studied at the Natural health Academy. https://nhaa.edu.au I completed all the modules for my certificate III, but not the 50 massages to collect it. By then my own personal system of techniques were strongly implemented and i was unable to conform to the basic level I was taught. I dropped out, lost my confidence and didn’t massage for two years.
I hope that my techniques will be recognised, a certificate from this championship will give me the credentials I need to succeed and I hope to learn whatever is available so i can achieve…
