Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 2026 World Championship in Massage in Denmark is Sofia Guimarães from Portugal. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:

My name is Sofia Guimarães, and I am a massage therapist based in Portugal. I live this profession with deep dedication, born from my profound respect for the human body and its natural ability to regenerate.

In the art of massage, the hands are a reflection of the heart. It is a silent dance where movement finds the perfect path toward release and freedom. Throughout each session, I read what the body has held in silence: accumulated tension, deep fatigue, and stories that were never spoken, but deeply felt.

My approach is integrative, combining therapeutic and sports massage with different Eastern traditions such as Ayurveda, Tui Na, and Shiatsu, complemented by techniques like aromatherapy and the conscious use of therapeutic oils adapted to each individual. I do not follow fixed protocols, I follow the body, its breath, and its rhythm.

I previously worked as a Spa Manager, an experience that taught me that true luxury is not found in the space itself, but in the moment when someone feels deeply cared for, seen, and held.

Currently, I work independently, dedicated to creating personalized therapeutic experiences where each touch is adapted to what the body truly needs in that moment.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.
During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.
The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.

Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. His energy seemed boundless, akin to a rechargeable battery, as he was present everywhere, capturing videos and photographs of all participants and conducting interviews with us.

Wishing all my fellow "muscle kneaders" the best of luck; may you enjoy this truly remarkable experience in your lives!
