Raj Cuppoor, Ireland
Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 8th World Championship in Massage is Raj Cuppoor from Ireland. The International Massage Association has asked him to tell about himself:
My name is Raj Cuppoor — a massage therapist, certified yoga instructor, and founder of Spiritual Touch Therapy https://spiritualtouchtherapy.ie/ . I’m originally from the island of Mauritius and have been living in Ireland for over 20 years. My practice is rooted in providing holistic, grounded care that supports the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.
I currently work full-time as a physiotherapy assistant and offer holistic massage therapy part-time — a path inspired by my own healing journey. The sense of peace and connection I experienced through massage was so powerful, I felt called to learn and offer that same support to others.
That passion led me to train in Traditional Thai Massage under the guidance of Shama Kern https://thaihealingmassage.com/ in 2018 — an experience that deepened my appreciation for how the body moves, holds, and releases energy. In 2019, I completed my formal massage training at Blackrock Further Education Institute in Dublin, https://www.bfei.ie/ and in 2020, I became a certified yoga teacher with Bewell Yoga in Athlone https://www.bewell-yoga.com/. This training helped me weave breath, movement, and mindfulness more deeply into my work.
Since then, I’ve continued to grow through specialised trainings, including:
- Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage and ancestral healing with Louise McEvoy (lineage of Abraham Kawaii)
- Tantric healing massage with the Somananda Tantra School in Estonia — including chakra balancing, marma point therapy, and the five-body system
- Abdominal massage with Louise Crokart (lineage of Rosita Arvigo)
- Pregnancy massage and lymphatic drainage therapy with Golden Egg Holistic
Each modality has helped shape my holistic approach — grounded, intuitive, and tailored to support clients on every level: physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual. Whether someone comes for pain relief, emotional release, or simply a moment of calm, I aim to meet them where they are and hold space for whatever is needed.
In 2025 I am honoured to represent Ireland at world massage championships in Copenhagen – proudly sponsored by the Irish Massage Therapists Association. ( IMTA). It is a privilege to stand alongside passionate therapists from around the world, share what I love and celebrate the global massage community.
