Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the World Championship in Massage is Patrick Maldonado from Germany. The Iternational Massage Association has asked him to tell about himself:

My name is Patrick Maldonado, and I am a massage therapist, spa owner, and educator with over 20 years of experience in professional massage and bodywork.

I graduated in Sports Science from the German Sport University Cologne (1997–2004), where I specialized in anatomy, movement, economics, and management. This strong academic foundation is the basis of my precise and functional approach to massage therapy.

In 2005, I founded the Juba Spa in Bonn, where I still work actively as a therapist. Later, I established the Day Spa Akademie, where I train and educate massage and wellness professionals. Despite my roles as an entrepreneur and educator, hands-on bodywork remains at the heart of my practice, as it keeps me connected, grounded, and inspired.

My massage style is rooted in sports massage but has developed into a unique fusion of therapeutic precision and deep relaxation techniques. I work with what I call “pleasant pressure” – effective and deep, yet always comfortable and never painful. I adapt intuitively between functional bodywork and flowing wellness massage depending on the client’s needs.

One of my main specialties is Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage, combined with body shaping techniques and a holistic understanding of the body.

My approach is simple: there is no right or wrong in a treatment. The most important goal is that the client feels safe, comfortable, and fully at ease. Every session should end with a sense of relief and a natural smile.

Born between German and Ecuadorian cultures, I combine structure, discipline, and precision with warmth, emotional awareness, and joy. This cultural balance strongly influences my work and my ability to connect with people from different backgrounds.

For me, massage is more than a technique – it is human connection. My goal is always to help people release tension, reset both physically and emotionally, and leave the treatment feeling lighter and more balanced.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.
During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.
The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.

Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. His energy seemed boundless, akin to a rechargeable battery, as he was present everywhere, capturing videos and photographs of all participants and conducting interviews with us.

Wishing all my fellow "muscle kneaders" the best of luck; may you enjoy this truly remarkable experience in your lives!

Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.
Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Han samler flittigt viden og erfaringer, hvorfra han skaber en kilde til ny viden og erfaring til andre og giver den videre.

Man lærer utrolig meget på kurserne og underviserne er så kompetente! Hvis man overvejer at blive massør, kan jeg på det kraftigste anbefale at man smutter til Næstved! :-)
