Latest massage therapist to sign up for the World Championship in Massage is from Mauritius. The IMA has asked him to tell about himself:

I am Nishal Sewraj, 38 years old,I come from Mauritius. I grew up in a family of traditionnel massage therapists.

My life situation brought me to become a sugar cane ploughman at the age of 14 until 18 years. After spending hours in the field, my body was sore and painful, so the treatment of my father relieved the sorrow. And that moment the therapist had been born. By the awareness of this divine gift that had permitted me to share with my surroundings of labour and by this engagement of a therapist I started to work in the clinic of my father.

Since 20 years I have been practicing therapeutic massage and yoga, my inspiration to yoga cultivates inside my soul the therapeutic art.

It is through yoga that I have been able to cultivate this art. The yoga culture allows me to practice my passion. referring to Mauritius four coloured flag combining from different cultures.

Fleurish my experience in this field, that creates in me a unique and passionate therapeutic for each individual.

This job also allowed me to travel and learn new massage therapy techniques in collaboration with osteopaths in Switzerland and Mauritius.

I was also a trainer in traditional massage in 2007 and 2008 at the Beachcomber Paradis Hotel in Mauritius and since 2013, I have my own massage practice in Tamarin, Black River. I can share my know-how on a daily basis.

My professional experiences have prepared me to take part in this competition.

I will represent my country, Mauritius.

It is a great honour to be present at the World Championship in Massage.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Han samler flittigt viden og erfaringer, hvorfra han skaber en kilde til ny viden og erfaring til andre og giver den videre.I dag er der allerede mange mennesker i verden, som har nydt godt af det kolossale arbejde, Jeppe konstant udfører. Jeg har taget både grunduddannelsen, skadesterapeut, thai yoga massage samt sundhedsfaglig grunduddannelse hos tengbjerg massørskole og jeg er så tilfreds. Man lærer utrolig meget på kurserne og underviserne er så kompetente! Hvis man overvejer at blive massør, kan jeg på det kraftigste anbefale at man smutter til Næstved! :-)
