New IMA Basic Teacher

Olga Solonyna has just completed IMA’s International Teacher Basic Course. The International Massage Association and the teachers behind the International Massage Teacher Courses have asked her to introduce herself:

My name is Olga Solonyna. I have more than 20 years of experience.

For 17 years I worked in a physiotherapy hospital and now I have my own salon in Spain. I specialise in therapeutic massage and posture correction for teenagers. I am also specialised in body shaping and facial massage.

I am always keen to learn new things, to be in the same team of the best massage therapists, to take part in massage championships and to share my experience.
In our age, which is overflowing with a variety of information, it is very easy to get lost.

Sometimes we don’t have time to assimilate the knowledge we have gained, put it into practice and realise the value of the information we have received.
In addition, the validity and evidence base of certain methods is questionable. And of course, it is very easy to get confused among ‘healers, coaches and various kinds of gurus’ amidst the endless flow of information.

On the International Massage Association website I saw a link to massage teacher training. I was interested and decided to take the course.

From the first session, I was impressed by how conveniently the course was structured: video, presentation, text material, homework and tests.
The course is structured in a very clear way. I had no difficulties throughout.

All the intricacies of adult learning, marketing, service, online learning, conflict management are covered.

IMA TEACHER is an attempt to look at the world of massage objectively, soberly assessing its role and effectiveness, it is an attempt to create a navigation map for professionals who are hungry for knowledge, eager to develop and share their knowledge.

Now I know how to attract new students, how to improve the quality of education, what tools I can use in the learning process.
