Nadine Stark Chognon, a passionate massage therapist, has built her expertise through a rich career marked by significant experiences and advanced training. After earning a CAP in beautician studies in 1983, she left for Switzerland where she joined the prestigious Mességué clinic at the Grand Hôtel du Golf & Palace in Crans Montana. There, she learned therapeutic massages, foot reflexology, and hydrotherapy. Upon returning to France, she obtained a sports instructor diploma and trained in Pilates and Yoga. Eager for knowledge, she explored different massage techniques, including Californian, Swedish, Shiatsu, Lomi-Lomi, and Vodder lymphatic drainage.
In 1995, Nadine opened her own spa and began passing on her know-how to apprentices. She also became actively involved in her professional union. Always seeking growth and evolution, she pursued training in kinesiology, deep fascia massages, naturopathy, and followed the teachings of Lise Bourbeau.
The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:
The Stark Ball Massage®
The specificity of Stark Ball Massage is the use of soft balls, placed under certain joints, with the aim, depending on its placement, of stretching or relaxing a muscle during the massage.
Placement under a joint facilitates passive mobilization of the joint in question and This has a positive effect on tendons, ligaments and capsules.
Using the balls allows me to choose the tension I want at the muscular level, fasciatic, tendinous but also platysma. So I can, for example, massage a muscle whose fibers are totally relaxed, therefore a soft muscle, this “myofascial release” will therefore help relieve muscle tension, relieve pain, restore muscle elasticity and promote muscle recovery.
The Stark Ball Massage® being a deep tissue, it is practiced, according to the desired depth, without oil in order to treat the fascia, which again will be either stretched or relaxed during the massage, with the aim of remove any adhesions and restore the flexibility and fluidity of the tissues affected by the movement, but also with creams or oils, depending on the technique you want apply.
My first education I took at: l’école européenne de beauté, Strasbourg.
