Latest Massage Therapists participating at the 8th World Championship in Massage is multi award winning Marylise Tanvet-Olax from Denmark. The International Massage Association has aske hed to tell about herself.

Who am I? – I am a mother, a former professional modern dancer, a teacher, a massage therapist, a healer, and an intuitive woman of French-Caribbean descent who has called Scandinavia home for over 26 years. After a fulfilling two-decade career in modern dance, I embarked on a new journey into massage therapy and Reiki healing in 2019. I became an Integrative Massage Therapist in 2022 at the Massage School for Bodywork in Copenhagen, under the guidance of my mentor, Robie Valenzuela. Since 2023, I have been running my own holistic clinic in the heart of Copenhagen. My passion for massage is deeply rooted in my love for movement and the transformative power of touch.

How do I see my massage? – I see my massage practice as a healing dance, where I combine my experience in movement with therapeutic touch and incorporate sports massage techniques.”

In 2011, I completed a basic massage course at the same school where 11 years later , I finished my massage education. The love for learning about the human bodies sparked a deeper interest in massage. It had lead me to pursue a physiology massage education in 2019. I then graduated as an Integrative Massage Therapist at the end of June 2022 from Skolen for Kropsbehandling in Lyngby/ Copenhagen (School for Bodywork) with Robie Valenzuela.

I feel split regarding nationality. I was born in France, in Paris, but I have lived between Sweden and Denmark since 1999. I’ve spent more than half of my life in Scandinavia, mostly in Denmark for the past 15 years.

This year, I have the honor of earning the title of Danish Champion in Massage 2025, which means I will be representing the red and white colors at the World Championship in Denmark—my “heart” home.

The International Massage Association look forward watching Marylise Tanvet-Olax skills again at the World Championship in wonderful Denmark on June 27-29 2025.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Jeg har taget både grunduddannelsen, skadesterapeut, thai yoga massage samt sundhedsfaglig grunduddannelse hos tengbjerg massørskole og jeg er så tilfreds. Man lærer utrolig meget på kurserne og underviserne er så kompetente! Hvis man overvejer at blive massør, kan jeg på det kraftigste anbefale at man smutter til Næstved! :-)
