Marie Christine Hachem, Lebanon
Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the World Championship in Massage is Marie Christine Hachem from Lebanon. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:
Hello! My name is Marie Christine Hachem, and I come from Lebanon. I am a massage therapist and trainer with over a decade of experience in the field. My passion for massage therapy began during my time as a flight attendant, where I had the opportunity to travel to different countries and experience various types of treatments.
In 2008, I decided to pursue my passion for massage by studying in Chiangmai, Thailand, and traveling throughout Asia to learn other types of treatments. The following year, I worked at a 5-star hotel in Lebanon before opening my own spa, Kimantra Spa, in 2010. The concept I created was unique – each room in the spa represents a different country where traditional treatments are given in a different setting, music, and aroma. Our guests can travel to India, Morocco, Thailand, Bali, China, Japan, New York, or Moulin Rouge, and experience authentic treatments that transport them to another part of the world.
Kimantra Spa was a resounding success, and three years later, I opened another branch in Beirut, which was also successful. In 2019, we expanded our business by opening a smaller branch in Marbella, Spain, and had plans to open more locations. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in 2020 when the Beirut port explosion destroyed our spa. However, we persevered and became stronger than ever, still offering the best massages in the country.
We take pride in our multinational treatments and unique massage techniques. Our therapists are trained to provide a 5-star service and use a special harmonious method that allows for a real healing touch.
We use deep to medium pressure, utilising the palms to stretch muscles away from the bones to increase oxygen flow. We then explore the lines and pressure points, in preparation to release the smallest knots from all directions, breaking up scar tissues and muscles adhesions and realigning tissue fibres.. Our guests abandon themselves in a deep ocean of relaxation, for 60 or 90 minutes.
I am so excited to represent my country Lebanon in the IMA competition and showcase our unique Kimantra Fusion massage, which is a deep tissue treatment that combines Indian, Balinese, Thai, Japanese, and Chinese Reflexology techniques.
