Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 8th World Championship in Massage is Junko Ikuno from Japan. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:

My name is Junko. I am a therapist and instructor based in Japan, offering a unique method that blends Swedish massage and Lomi Lomi, combined with elements of traditional Japanese Seitai, Shiatsu, and stretching techniques.

In 2023, I won the Swedish Massage category at the international competition in London, and in 2024, I advanced to the semifinals of the All-Japan Bodywork Championship held in Japan.

My method not only focuses on muscular anatomy, but also incorporates skeletal alignment techniques to guide the body back to its natural position.

Beyond anatomy, my sessions are performed like a dance—harmonizing the flow of Ki (life energy), encouraging mindful breathing and core engagement. Using essential oils derived from the blessings of the earth, I guide both the mind and body toward deep relaxation and renewal.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event.
