Igor Mamenka, Ukraine
Latest Massage Therapist participating at the 2026 World Massage Championship is Igor Mamenka from Ukraine. The IMA has asked him to tell about himself and his massage:
Luz — More Than Relaxation When the body releases tension, we reconnect with ourselves. Stress, overwhelm, and the constant demands of everyday life can often cloud our inner light. Bodywork helps create a space where we can once again welcome calm, lightness, and our natural radiance — both for ourselves and in our relationships with others. Every person carries their own story — experiences, emotions, and ways of coping that, over time, become stored in the body.
This is where we often find burdens, areas of holding, and patterns of tension that affect how we feel within ourselves and how we function in everyday life. Working with the body, I simply meet these places and stay with them. I help them soften and release. I rely on experience and a mindful, sensitive touch that allows me to accurately sense areas of tension in the body and work with them in a subtle yet effective way. This makes it easier to come back to yourself — to a greater sense of presence, calm, and connection with your own body. Luz is not only about releasing physical tension. It is about creating space where what has always been within a person can be seen again — their natural light.
I began learning massage in 2013 in Ukraine, where I completed a classical massage course at the Oksana Zhyla Experimental School of Massage and Alternative Medicine.
Over the past years, I have been living in Poland, where I graduated from the Cosinus post-secondary medical school in massage therapy. After passing the national exam, I obtained the professional qualification of Massage Technician.
