Latest Massage Therapist signing up to participate at the World Championship in Massage is Alona Petrunia from Ukraine and Germany. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:

My name is Alona Petrunia. I am 41 years old. I am a massage therapist and cosmetologist.

But in truth… I am a person who has felt the world through touch since childhood.

I was only 5 years old when I first realized that my hands could change how a person feels. I would simply touch my parents’ backs… and I could see the fatigue disappear, a smile appear, their breathing become lighter… In that moment, I believed there was something more within me.

Something that cannot be explained with words — only felt. Years have passed. Today, I have more than 12 years of experience in massage and 8 years in cosmetology. But the most important thing has remained the same — every time I work with a person.

I do more than just perform a technique. I listen to the body. I feel tension, fear, exhaustion… and I help to release it. And in return, I see… how the gaze changes — how the eyes soften, how calm returns, how a person becomes themselves again.

I am also a mother of two sons. Motherhood has taught me to feel even deeper, to be both gentle and strong at the same time. My heart is also with those who are going through difficult times.

My homeland is Ukraine. And today, there are children who have lost their homes, their safety, their support…

I cannot change the whole world. But I can be part of something good. And I do this through my work and through my heart.

🌍 Why I am here:

The World Championship by the International Massage Association is not just a stage. It is a place of strength. A place for people who feel just as deeply.

I am here to grow. To share. To learn from the best.

At this championship, I would like to present myself in the category of Wellness Massage, focused on relaxation, body awareness, and overall well-being.

In my practice, I often use anti-cellulite massage, classical wellness massage, general therapeutic strengthening massage, vacuum body massage, and buccal facial massage combined with Spanish facial massage techniques.

I received the foundations of my massage education at a medical college.

Later, I continued my professional development at the International Training Center “Career” in Dnipro, Ukraine.

My next step was the International Center of Aesthetic Education and Personal Development, where I refined my body and facial massage techniques and obtained my qualification as an aesthetic cosmetologist.

At this championship, I am proud to represent both Ukraine and Germany.

Ukraine as my homeland, and Germany as the country that has become my second home due to the war in my country.

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.
During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.
The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.

Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event. His energy seemed boundless, akin to a rechargeable battery, as he was present everywhere, capturing videos and photographs of all participants and conducting interviews with us.

Wishing all my fellow "muscle kneaders" the best of luck; may you enjoy this truly remarkable experience in your lives!

Jeg mødte Jeppe Tengbjerg for første gang ved det første World Massage Championship i 2017. Siden da har vi krydset veje mange gange, i forskellige samarbejder relateret til massageverdenen: internationale konkurrencer, danske konkurrencer, kurser, workshops, seminarer, masterclasses mv. . Her var Jeppe skaberen, arrangøren eller i det mindste var han en væsentlig faktor i dannelsen af disse værdifulde platforme for uddannelse, inspiration og promovering, for alle dem, der er involveret i massageverdenen, både som massageudbydere og som massageforbrugere.
Jeppe har ydet et kæmpe bidrag til at fremme massageværdier i Danmark og verden. Der kunne siges meget om dette bidrag og om hans egenskaber som professionel og som person. Måske allervigtigst er, at Jeppe Tengbjerg er en inspiration og et forbillede. Han samler flittigt viden og erfaringer, hvorfra han skaber en kilde til ny viden og erfaring til andre og giver den videre.

Jeg har taget både grunduddannelsen, skadesterapeut, thai yoga massage samt sundhedsfaglig grunduddannelse hos tengbjerg massørskole og jeg er så tilfreds. Man lærer utrolig meget på kurserne og underviserne er så kompetente! Hvis man overvejer at blive massør, kan jeg på det kraftigste anbefale at man smutter til Næstved! :-)
