Latest Massage Therapist signing up for the 8th World Championship in Massage is Aki Vähäsarja from Finland. The International Massage Association has asked him to tell about himself:

Hello! My name is Aki Vähäsarja and I come from Oulu, a city in the northern part of Finland.

I have 10 years of experience in massage, sports and wellness. During my career as a trained massage therapist I have helped all sorts of people with different backrounds and problems, whether they be related to acute or chronic pain, nutrition, competitive & professional sports or for example just the need of relaxation and stress relief.

I always try to keep my training as sharp as possible and on top of my fundamental education as a trained/licensed massage therapist I have got training in various methods of the western style massage. These teachings/methods include e.g. specialization in pain relief, MET-techniques, kinesio taping, electric treatments, ultrasound treatments, lymphatic treatments, facial massage, fascia relief, mobilization of spine and limbs, specialization in sports massage and dryneedling.

My clients would probably describe me as a social, easily approachable and overall a well informed professional. I love my job and my clients, and I have always been eager to learn more when it comes to massage. These are my first World Championships in Massage and I am proud to represent my home country Finland. I hope to find success, meet new people and get a great experience! See you soon!

I had the honor of participating in the 7th Massage Competition held in Copenhagen, Denmark, last June about 250 over participants from 50 over countries.During this event, I encountered numerous massage therapists who profoundly inspired me till now, we made connectionson social media, learning new techniques from them as well.The competition venue was expansive and expertly designed to accommodate all categories of massage.Mr. Jeppe, my greatest idol, was exceptionally engaged throughout the event.
