Stijn Bijnens, Belgium
Stijn Bijnens has just signed up for the World Championship in Massage 2023. The International Massage Association has asked him to tell about himself:
I took my first massage course (deep tissue) in 2008 and did it as a hobby until 2015. Since 2015 I started my own practice and combine the different styles that have inspired me during my path: Ayurveda, fascia therapy, hands-on bodywork in psychotherapy, Craniosacral therapy and even Reiki. That’s way I call it “Holistic bodywork”. It touches more then muscles.
As a treatments manager, I also get to lead a department of almost 40 massagetherapists in the most amazing wellness there is: Elaisa Energetic Wellness. Since 2019, I have been providing training here, but I also still give massages every day out of love for the profession. For me, massage is a craft that humanity needs more than ever.
My trademark matches my personality: combining peace and quiet but with a fiery temperament. On the table this is expressed through the synergy of deep tissue and cranio sacral therapy. I’m convinced that yin and yang should be represented in every massage. So soft touch for the nerve system and nervus vagus and a firm “melting” touch for the facial system.
From where did you graduate as a massage therapist?
I learned deep tissue at “De Levensschool” (“School of Life”) and Cranio-sacral biodynamics at “Reliantie Instituut”, but honestly I learned the most from giving massages with my eyes closed. In addition, by being in duo with high level masseurs in Elaisa, my skills have also been uplifted by the cross-pollination!
My website is being rebuild behind the scenes, but here is the link www.stijnbijnens.be

The International massage Association look forward watching Stijn Bijnens skills at the World Championship in Massage 2023 in Copenhagen.
