Latest Massage Therapis to register for the International Massage Associations 6th Hybrid World Championship in Massage 2023 is from Italy. The IMA has asked him to tell about himself.

My name is Marco Bernabei, I was born in 1974 in the Italian region of Veneto. My home lands are the “Terme Euganee” a touristic area next to Venice with 2000 years of tradition on thermal treatments.

I discover my passion for massage when I was a boy watching my mother: after a 50 years career as professional masseuse, she still practices just for pleasure! After obtaining my habilitation I started working in the Thermal Hotels of the area and in the 2002 I choose to work for the Hotel Mioni Pezzato, where I started to notice how an intense massage program (6 or 12 days), combined with thermal mud therapy and thermal water baths can improve the life of our guests!

I started to be thirsty for learning new techniques and improve my skills on Therapeutical Massages, Sport Massages and Eastern Massages as Shiatsu, and Thai massage. Working in a thermal hotel gave me the possibility to treat many different types of patients from rugby players to elderly patients with severe pathologies. They all taught me something!

I express myself in a high intensity dynamic therapeutical massage that’s combine manipulation and mobilization techniques.

Now, after 20 years I am the Mioni Pezzato Spa Technical Director of a team of 15 members, with this role I discover the pleasure to transfer my passion and my knowledge to new generations! I am looking forward to meet and learn from so many therapists who share my passion!
