Latest Massage therapist to register the 6th World Championship in Massage is Katherine Stine from USA. The International Massage Association has asked her to tell about herself:
My name is Katherine Stine, I hail from Tampa, Florida. I will have been a LMT for three years in March 2023.
Massage is a passion I didn’t know I had until I took a shot in the dark at the end of 2018. I had been traveling a lot and wanted to travel with a purpose to learn, help others, grow etc while traveling. I had thought about the possibility of massage for a few years, my father even joking at times I missed my calling for massage. So, in the early winter of 2018 I started looking at schools around the country. I was living in Michigan at the time and decided to tour a highly rated school in Southfield. After the tour I knew I belonged at this specific Institute and signed up for the winter class starting February 2019 the same day.
I graduated March 4, 2020 barely beating shutdown during the COVID outbreak in the States. I started working as a therapist May 2020 as Florida opened up early and progressed to start my own massage business in April 2021, which I work full time. My love for massage keeps growing and blossoming as I am developing as a therapist. It feels as if I am writing a symphony on someone’s body as I explore their muscular system. My style is very much a mix of western and eastern freestyle. I always incorporate Thai compressions. I throw in a little Shiatsu, Cranial Sacral, cupping, scraping, trigger point and Polarity as I feel it is needed. I mainly practice deep tissue but I have been evolving into a mix of deep tissue and relaxation. I would consider myself an Abstract Expressionist Massage Therapist. My massages can differ widely from person to person, although I have my base rhythm to refer to.
I graduated from Irene’s Myomassology Institute in Southfield, Michigan
The International Massage Association look forward watching Katherine Stine skills at the World Championship in Massage June 30-July 2 in wonderful Copenhagen, Denmark.
