The latest massage therapists to sign up for the World Championship in Massage is Goedele De Jonghe from Belgium. The IMA has asked her to tell about herself.
My name is Goedele De Jonghe, also known as “Goody”. I am from Belgium
Growing up, I’ve always had an interest in health, wellness and bodywork.
My massage journey started 10 years ago.
After having worked as a lifeguard on the beach and completing my studies in Physical Education, I went to India to study Ayurvedic Massage.
I started up my own business called “Juamassage”. The name was inspired by my work experience in Africa, with Jua meaning sun or sunray in Swahili, offering the sun’s energy to my clients through my hands.
In 2013 I went to Thailand, the mecca of massage, for further specialization in Traditional Thai Massage, Pregnancymassage, Babymassage, Tsi Nei Tsong, Internal Organmassage and Footmassage.
Back in Belgium I continued deepening my skills and knowledge with Deep Tissue Massage, Reiki I and II, Applied Kinesiology and Face Acupuncture. Many beautiful work opportunities followed these studies, in stunning places around the world: offering Sportmassage in Verbiers (Switzerland); in a private villa in Jean Cap Ferrat; on a superyacht sailing France – Bahama’s- Carribean- Alaska- Greece-Italy; a private spa service in Ibiza and a 7 star lodge in South-Africa.
I love combining my exciting travelling experiences with relaxation and I am sure this is reflected in every massage I offer, passing on positive vibes and good energy to my clients.
The International Massage Association and our sponsor Lemi look forward watching Goedele De Jonghe skills at the World Championship in Masage 2020 in wonderful Copenhagen.
