Cristian Stanis, England
Latest participant at the World Championship in Massage is Cristian Stanis from the UK. The International Massage Association has asked him to tell about himself.
My name is Cristian Stanis, I am from a small town in Transylvania, Romania.
When I was a kid, I spent all my school holidays at my grandparents in the countryside, and there I learned the first massage techniques from my great- grandfather who was the village traditional healer.
I was fascinated by the therapeutic effects of the massage on the human body, the fact that you could only with your hands to relieve or to make the pain in the body disappear for me was like witchcraft. I started to perform massage from a very young age, mainly to members of family and friends and it time it became my hobby.
I worked for approx ten years in the IT industry, until I realized that my true passion is the massage therapy.
In 2015 I decided to make a major change in my life and career development I moved to the UK where I wanted to diversify and improve my massage techniques.
In London I studied various types of therapies at London School of Massage
In my massage, I combine techniques influenced from different styles of massage. My purpose is always to find and remove tension from the body.
In order to achieve this I always try to use the least amount of energy to gain the maximum effect.
I work with the client’s breath, getting into a rhythm where a lot of the communication is unspoken. I aim to utilise the space around the massage table to most effectively use my body weight.
I like to consider that my massage it is a moving meditation for myself and an amazing therapeutic experience for my client.
I graduate at London School of Massage http://www.londonschoolofmassage.co.uk/
